Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited college/university.
• Hold or be eligible for North Carolina Professional Educator’s License in Exceptional Children’s area.
• Valid motor vehicle operator’s license as per NC requirements.

Responsibilities

• Develops IEPs for students with disabilities; implements the IEP and updates it as needed.
• Implements instructional strategies and progress monitoring tools for SDA students.
• Assists students in completing curriculum tasks and IEP goals.
• Uses varied teaching methods and materials to meet diverse student needs.
• Monitors student behavior, maintains classroom discipline, and teaches appropriate strategies.
• Attends IEP meetings and collaborates with school staff, families, and community.
• Keeps up with best practices and professional development related to instruction.
