Elwyn is seeking a Special Education Teacher for the Davidson School to implement program goals and provide instruction under IEPs and PDE regulations. The role emphasizes collaboration with multidisciplinary staff to deliver targeted educational outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Contributes to the IEP, specifically in the areas of academic and behavior goals, objectives, and present levels for each assigned student in coordination with, but not limited to, the IEP team, as well as other designated school personnel by adhering to established timelines, conducting academic/curricular based assessments, recording and reporting data, writing academic and behavioral goals and objectives, completing the Present Level of Academic Achievement and Functional Performance (PLAAFP) in line with PDE guidelines and LEA policies.
• Develops, delivers, and differentiates instructional/lesson plans aligned with the school's curriculum and state standards to ensure instruction matches age, grade, and development.
• Designs and implements accommodations for academics, behavior, social and communication needs by preparing materials, collaborating with OT/PT/SLT, engaging 1:1 or small groups, and practicing skills to meet expectations.
• Assists students in developing appropriate work attitudes and communication skills, fostering a strong work ethic and preparing for outside of school experiences.
• Contributes to school-wide behavior plans by completing behavioral documentation, participating in FBA, and completing Behavior Incident Reports.
• Provides oversight and direction to classroom staff by posting schedules and reinforcing assigned responsibilities for clarity.
• Demonstrates professional problem-solving and adaptability to changes, maintaining a mature approach with all stakeholders to ensure effective performance.
