Job summary

Elwyn is seeking a Preschool Teacher to establish and maintain a developmentally appropriate classroom for children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD). This role includes consultation with the education team and supervising education staff as directed by the Center Director.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood/Special Education with PA certification, plus at least 3 years' ASD experience, and demonstrates teamwork, strong communication, and organizational skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood/Special Education; Master's preferred.
• PA School Certification in Early Childhood/Special Education.
• Three years' experience working with young children with autism spectrum disorder.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
• Demonstrated strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Excellent judgment with the ability to solve problems with limited supervision.

Responsibilities

• Prepare lesson plans, activities, and therapeutic strategies for classroom use and home activities for learning.
• Supervise children to ensure health and safety per policies.
• Integrate each child's IEP goals into classroom routines and activities.
• Monitor progress via observations, data collection, and portfolio assessments.
• Collaborate with parents, education team, and funding agencies on goals.
• Develop curriculum fostering independence and holistic development.
• Maintain regular communication with parents through newsletters and reports.
• Delegate staff for inclusion activities.
• Perform CPR and crisis intervention using agency protocols.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
