Job summary

Elwyn is seeking a dedicated educational assistant to support classroom instruction for children with developmental disabilities. You will assist the teacher, implement IEP goals, and contribute to a structured, supportive classroom environment.

Responsibilities include data collection, activity preparation, and collaboration with the service team to monitor progress and ensure consistent program delivery. A strong team mindset and communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor's in education, special education, early childhood, psychology, or related field preferred
• Two years of experience with preschool-age children required; experience with developmental disabilities preferred
• Knowledge of assessment tools and practices for children ages three to five preferred
• Knowledge of IEP development and service delivery for young children preferred
• Strong teamwork and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Must be able to perform CPR and crisis intervention using agency-trained protocols
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; proficient with Microsoft Office applications

Responsibilities

• Assist classroom teacher and related service team in delivering instruction per IEP and PDE regulations
• Prepare instructional materials and assist in planning activities
• Work with children in groups and 1:1 settings
• Monitor and report on children’s behavior and progress
• Participate in team meetings and program assessments
• Maintain organized classrooms and schedule routines
• Record progress data and support IEP goals implementation
• Assist with daily living skills and classroom activities
