Job summary

Wake County Public School System is seeking a Special Education Teacher to coordinate and provide direct instructional programs for students with IEPs across the district.

You will monitor and evaluate services, ensure FERPA compliance, and collaborate with staff, families, and community partners to support student learning and safety.

Bachelor's degree and NC Exceptional Children license eligibility are required; strong knowledge of MS Office and Google Apps is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited college/university.
• Eligibility for NC Professional Educator’s License in Exceptional Children.
• Must hold and maintain a valid NC driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Develops and updates IEPs using diagnostic information.
• Applies specially designed instruction and monitors progress.
• Supports students to complete curriculum tasks and IEP goals.
• Uses varied teaching methods and materials to meet needs.
• Monitors behavior and maintains classroom discipline.
• Evaluates work and adjusts instruction; coordinates grades.
• Attends IEP meetings as a collaborative team member.
• Keeps current on trends through PD and professional networks.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
