Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited college/university.
• Hold or be eligible for a North Carolina Professional Educator’s License in an Exceptional Children’s teaching area.
• Proficiency with MS Office and Google Apps; strong communication and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Develops IEPs for students with disabilities; updates IEPs using diagnostic information.
• Implements instructional strategies and progress monitoring tools.
• Assists students in completing curriculum tasks and IEP goals.
• Employs varied teaching methods; adapts materials to meet needs.
• Monitors behavior; maintains classroom discipline and safety.
• Evaluates student work and adjusts instruction as needed.
• Attends IEP meetings as a collaborative team member.
• Stays updated on trends and best practices through PD and collaboration.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
