Job summary

ChanceLight Behavioral Health, Therapy, & Education, a ChanceLight company, seeks a Special Education Teacher to lead instructional processes for elementary students with IEPs in a dynamic alternative education setting.

The role emphasizes delivering differentiated instruction, utilizing educational software, and creating comprehensive lesson plans tailored to diverse student needs while aligning with state standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in education or a closely related field.
• Licensed currently or in the process of obtaining an IL professional educator (PEL) credential.
• Licensed currently or in the process of obtaining an IL state SSE or LBS1 credential.
• Ability to obtain and maintain crisis management training certification.
• Experience with curriculum development and differentiation; preferably in alternative/special education environments.
• Experience with IEPs and special education services; knowledge of compliance and at-risk students.

Responsibilities

• Lead instructional process for Elementary students with IEPs, designing personalized learning experiences.
• Deliver targeted instruction using innovative curriculum resources and educational software.
• Create comprehensive lesson plans and schedules aligned to state standards.
• Maintain organized, safe classroom and manage supplies and resources.
• Collaborate with staff to implement differentiated instruction and PBIS strategies.
• Develop and update IEP goals and interventions; track progress and generate reports.
• Respond to feedback and pursue ongoing professional growth.
• Perform additional duties to support the educational program.
