Job summary

Rochester Public Schools seeks a Special Education ESP paraprofessional to support students with special needs at the school site. You will assist with instructional activities, behavior management, and data collection under supervision, contributing to students’ learning and safety.

Based in Rochester, MN, this role emphasizes collaboration with certified staff, equity, and consistent attendance. Training will cover de-escalation and health support as needed.

Qualifications

• 60 college credits and/or a two-year degree from an accredited college or university.
• High School diploma or GED required.
• Experience working with elementary age students.
• Computer skills preferred.
• Flexibility and the ability to work as a cooperative team member.
• Regular, on-time attendance is required.

Responsibilities

• Provide instructional support under supervision.
• Assist with behavior management and de-escalation.
• Support students with health needs and personal cares as needed.
• Collect data and report student progress.
• Communicate progress to classroom teachers and related staff.
• Support students during meals, recess, and field trips.
• Follow student Behavior Intervention Plans and Emergency Healthcare Plans.
