Job summary

Rochester Public Schools is seeking a Special Education ESP paraprofessional to assist with students who qualify for special education services. You will support instructional activities, data collection, and progress reporting under certified staff guidance.

Responsibilities include supervising students, assisting with behavior plans, health support, and AI/OI tasks as needed. Strong teamwork and punctuality are essential in this school-based role.

Qualifications

• 60 college semester credits and/or a two-year degree from an accredited college or university; include official transcript(s).
• In lieu of college credits or degree, you may complete the Paraeducator Assessments with Minnesota passing scores.
• High School diploma or GED required.
• Experience with elementary age students.
• Computer skills preferred.
• Flexibility and the ability to work as a cooperative team member.
• Regular, on-time attendance is required.

Responsibilities

• Provide instructional support and help implement IEP goals under certified staff guidance.
• Monitor and supervise students in lunchroom and playground.
• Collect data and communicate academic/behavior progress to teachers.
• Support students with personal cares as needed.
• Follow Behavior Intervention Plans and Emergency Healthcare Plans.
