Job summary

Qualifications

• Minimum requirement; 60 college credits and/or a two-year degree from an accredited college or university
• In lieu of college credits or degree, Paraeducator Assessments may be completed
• High School diploma or GED required
• Experience working with elementary age students
• Computer skills preferred
• Flexibility and the ability to work as a cooperative team member
• Positive rapport with children including the ability to correct inappropriate student behavior with fairness and consistency
• Regular, on-time attendance is required

Responsibilities

• Provide instructional support, behavior management, health support, collecting data, and communicating academic and behavioral progress at the school site
• Employee may need to provide services in home on an as needed basis
• Staff may be required to report in person to a school building on an as needed basis
• Monitor and/or supervise students in the lunchroom and on the playground in all types of weather
• Follow student Behavior Intervention Plans and Emergency Healthcare Plans
• Provide support to students with personal cares (toileting, dressing, feeding) as needed
• Able to build strong relationships with children from all backgrounds and neuro-types
• Maintain confidentiality
• Effective communication with all staff
• Good organizational skills
• Regular, on-time attendance is required
