Job summary

Frederick County Public Schools Special Instructional Services - Winchester, Virginia is seeking a Special Education Behavior Assistant (Division Wide) to support behavior analysis initiatives within the division. The role requires collaboration with teachers, administrators and support staff to implement BIP/IEP plans, with an emphasis on PBIS and ethical guidelines.

Starting Aug 3, 2026, this full-time position spans 10 months (183 days) with a salary range of $21,393 to $36,047 per year.

Qualifications

• Extensive knowledge and understanding of concepts of Behavior Analysis and PBIS.
• Demonstrate leadership and project organizational skills (planning, implementing, and evaluation).
• Ability to work collaboratively with stakeholders, educators, administration, etc.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills with individuals, teams, and groups (teachers, administrators, and support staff).
• Impeccable time-management skills and adhere to scheduled appointments with supervisor, BIP/IEP meetings, etc.
• Adhere to all ethical guidelines outlined by the BACB.
• Must have already completed the 40 hour Registered Behavior Technician training.
• Completion of the Safety-Care Behavior Safety Training program is preferred.
• Willing to work with all populations (age, program, varying disabilities, etc.)
• Position requires standing/walking, sitting, lifting to 30 lbs., repetitive hand movements, bending, squatting, kneeling, climbing, and reaching.

Responsibilities

• Support behavior analysis initiatives and PBIS.
• Lead and participate in BIP/IEP meetings and related scheduling.
• Collaborate with educators, administration, and support staff.
• Communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
• Assist with program implementation and evaluation.
• Manage time and attend scheduled appointments with supervisor.
• Follow safety procedures and be prepared for potential physical interventions if needed.
• Maintain professional and ethical standards per BACB guidelines.
