Frederick County Public Schools is seeking a Special Education Instructional Assistant to support students with IEPs under the supervision of a classroom teacher. The position runs for 60 days with re-evaluation possible and requires lifting up to 50 lbs and adherence to confidentiality.

Work hours are 8:30 AM to 4:00 PM, with an hourly wage of $17.13. This non-exempt, school-based role focuses on assisting students, documenting progress, and supporting accessibility and safety in the classroom.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; 48 college credits or AA or ParaPro required for Title One Schools.
• Ability to communicate clearly, concisely in both oral and written form.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Drive.

Responsabilités

• Supports students under direction of FCPS staff.
• Communicates and documents student progress.
• Sets up materials and assistive devices for student use as directed.
• Facilitates student progress toward independence.
• Monitors and assists students during educational and recreational activities.
• Assists with routine physical and personal care not required to be performed by a nurse.
• Monitors and assists students in meeting IEP goals and objectives.
• Maintains confidentiality of student information.
• Participates in professional development trainings.
• Assists with administering, scoring, and recording assessments.
• Works in a team environment.
