Job summary

New Story Schoolsis seeking a Special Education Paraprofessional to work with teachers in supporting students aged 5–21 with autism and behavioral challenges. You will assist with academic, behavioral, and daily living goals, implementing IEPs and behavior plans under guidance.

The role emphasizes calm, patient support, data collection, and helping students transition between activities while maintaining a structured learning environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Must be at least 21 years old.
• At least three months of experience supporting individuals with learning or behavioral disabilities.
• Knowledge of behavior management and classroom support strategies.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to stay calm and consistent during challenging situations.

Responsibilities

• Support students with academic, behavioral, and self-care goals.
• Implement IEPs and Positive Behavior Support Plans under teacher guidance.
• Assist students with transitions, activities, and personal care as needed.
• Collect and record behavioral and progress data.
