Job summary

Poudre School District’s Laurel Elementary School in Fort Collins, CO, is seeking a Paraprofessional Integrated Services II to support students with significant learning needs within the Integrated Learning Supports (ILS) program.

Responsibilities include assisting with instructional support, behavior management, health-related tasks, and data collection while collaborating with teachers to implement IEP goals.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• One year of related experience.
• Experience working with special needs students preferred.
• Equivalent combination of education and experience acceptable.
• If assigned to a Title I school, at least one of the following criteria is required
• completion of at least two years of higher education
• an associate’s (or higher) degree
• successful completion of the WorkKeys assessment

Responsibilities

• Assist teachers by implementing instruction and reinforcing learning skills for students with significant support needs.
• Implement behavior intervention strategies and respond to escalations to ensure safety.
• Monitor students in classrooms and during transitions and enforce safety procedures.
• Provide hands-on support with hygiene, feeding, mobility, and health care plans.
• Use assistive technology and communication devices as needed.
• Maintain records of student behavior and progress and assist with IEP documentation.
• Collaborate with staff to implement IEP goals and crisis response plans.
• Attend specialized training and participate in staff meetings to enhance job skills.
