Job summary

Poudre School District is seeking a paraprofessional to assist in classrooms, providing instructional, physical and behavioral support to students with mild to moderate disabilities so they can participate in general education activities.

Under Colorado Department of Education guidelines, candidates may have two years of post-secondary study or an associate degree, or an approved certificate demonstrating reading, writing and math support.

Qualifications

• Demonstrates successful completion of at least two years of post-secondary study.
• Associates or higher degree by start of assignment.
• Certificate showing completion of an assessment meeting state standards in reading, writing, and mathematics.

Responsibilities

• Provide instructional, physical and behavioral support for students with disabilities.
• Assist general education and special education teachers with accommodations, materials and clerical tasks.
• Monitor student progress and tailor assignments to individual needs, progress and behaviors.
