Job summary

Gwinnett County Public Schools seeks a Paraprofessional Educator to assist in supporting students with disabilities across classrooms and instructional settings. You will help implement IEP goals and supervise students while collaborating with teachers and specialists.

The job requires adapting activities, administering basic first aid, assisting with assessments, data collection, and helping with daily living needs under supervision. A PSC-certified paraprofessional credential is essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED and passing Parapro assessments (or equivalent)
• 60 semester or 90 quarter hours from PSC-approved college/university
• Experience in licensed child care preferred

Responsibilities

• Assist in supervising, caring for, and instructing special needs students
• Adapt activities and reinforce IEP goals under supervision
• Administer basic first aid and medical assistance as directed
• Administer tests, homework, and makeup work to support instruction
• Assist medically fragile or physically disabled students with daily needs
• Collaborate with teachers to evaluate student progress and implement IEP objectives
• Collect data and maintain records to support instruction and planning
• Monitor students to provide a safe, positive learning environment
• Support in monitoring duties (hallways, lunchroom, bus duty) as assigned
• Perform other duties as assigned
