Job summary

Gwinnett County Public Schools is seeking a Paraprofessional Educator for Special Education (Parapro Sp Ed - SDD Res/SC). The role supports instructional programs for students with special needs across regular and specialized settings and participates in IEP-related activities.

Requirements include a Georgia PSC Paraprofessional certificate, a high school diploma or GED with Praxis/GACE Parapro, or PSC-approved college hours. On-site position with a 40-hour workweek and multiple job duties.

Qualifications

• Georgia PSC Paraprofessional Educator certificate required
• H.S. Diploma or GED with Praxis Parapro or GACE Parapro required
• 60 semester hours or 90 quarter hours from PSC-approved college if assessments not passed

Responsibilities

• Provide support to the instructional program for special needs students in regular and special education classrooms.
• Supervise and assist with instruction, behavior management, and IEP implementation as directed.
• Attend IEP meetings and communicate with teachers and staff as needed.
• Administer first aid and medical assistance as instructed by health professionals.
• Assist with daily living activities and transport support when required.
• Maintain student records, attendance, and data collection to support instructional goals.
