Job summary

New Story Schools in Reading, PA is seeking a Special Education Paraprofessional to support students aged 5-21 with autism and emotional, behavioral, and developmental challenges. You will work alongside teachers to help students meet academic, behavioral, and daily living goals.

Under guidance, you will implement IEPs and Positive Behavior Support Plans, assist with transitions and personal care, and collect progress data in a safe, structured learning environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• At least three months of experience supporting individuals with learning or behavioral disabilities.
• Knowledge of behavior management and classroom support strategies.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to stay calm and consistent during challenging situations.

Responsibilities

• Support students with academic, behavioral, and self-care goals.
• Implement IEPs and Positive Behavior Support Plans under teacher guidance.
• Assist students with transitions, activities, and personal care as needed.
• Collect and record behavioral and progress data; maintain a safe, structured learning environment.
