Job summary

Contoocook Valley Reg School District is seeking a Paraprofessional for Special Education to support students under supervision of teachers and specialists. You will implement IEP goals, assist in classroom activities, and help ensure access to the general curriculum with appropriate instructional strategies.

The role requires paraeducator certification and a high school diploma, plus collaborative teamwork and strong organizational skills to coordinate data and materials for student progress

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Paraeducator I or Paraeducator II certification is required.
• Experience with students with varied needs is preferred.
• Strong interpersonal skills are essential.
• Positive, cooperative approach to problem solving and collaboration with team is needed.
• Knowledge of basic computer skills and assistive technology is helpful.
• Demonstrated organizational skills are important.

Responsibilities

• Reads, understands and implements IEP goals as directed by the Special Education team.
• Facilitates participation of students in accessing the general curriculum.
• Maintains data and records related to IEP goals and shares observations with team.
• Supports implementation of school instructional strategies and inclusion.
• Prepares educational materials as directed by special education staff and consultants.
• Attends paraprofessional and special education meetings as required.
