Job summary

Gwinnett County Public Schools is seeking a Paraprofessional Sp Ed at Dacula Middle to support students with special needs in various instructional settings. You will assist in implementing IEPs, monitor behavior, and help with daily living activities under teacher supervision.

Requirements include a Georgia PSC Paraprofessional certificate, a high school diploma or GED, and either Praxis Parapro or GACE Parapro or PSC hours.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED required and must have passed Praxis Parapro or GACE Parapro
• 60 sem/90 qtr hours from PSC-approved college if not taking assessments
• Paraprofessional Educator certificate issued by Georgia PSC (required)

Responsibilities

• Assist in supervising and instructing special needs students in various settings
• Support instructional programs and implement IEP goals under supervision
• Administer data collection and assist in record keeping for students
• Monitor student behavior and ensure safety in classroom, hallways, and bus duty as assigned
• Provide first aid and basic health support as needed
• Assist with daily living skills and activities to support student independence
• Attend IEP meetings and communicate with teachers and parents as appropriate
