Job summary

Poudre School District seeks a Special Education Paraprofessional to support students with significant needs at Preston Middle School. You will assist teachers with instructional activities, behavior support, and health-related tasks while promoting access to the general education curriculum.

The role requires collaboration with teachers, nursing staff, and other professionals to implement IEP goals and safety procedures in classroom and non-classroom settings.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• One year of related experience preferred.
• Experience with special needs students preferred.
• Equivalent mix of education and experience acceptable.
• Criminal background check required for hire.
• CPI training within 3 months of hire.
• Special Education Paraprofessional Academy classes (5 in first 2 years).

Responsibilities

• Provide instructional and physical support for students with significant needs.
• Assist with personal care, social skills, and self-awareness.
• Implement behavior plans and respond to escalations.
• Monitor students across classrooms, hallways, and transitions.
• Maintain health care plans and collaborate with nursing staff.
• Document behavior and progress; assist with IEP data.
