Job summary

Poudre School District invites applicants for a Paraprofessional Integrated Services I at Preston Middle School in Fort Collins, CO. This role supports students with mild to moderate disabilities within the general and special education settings.

You will assist teachers with instruction, manage classroom behavior, and help students access the curriculum, while upholding safety and confidentiality policies. Strong communication and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; related experience preferred.
• Completion of at least two years of higher education may be considered in lieu of experience.
• WorkKeys assessment may be required within one year of hire.
• CPI certification within 3 months of hire is required.
• Special Education Paraprofessional Academy classes (5 in first 2 years) required or encouraged.

Responsibilities

• Assist the general or special education teacher with instruction in individual or small groups.
• Support students with classroom work, personal care, and social skills.
• Implement behavior plans and de-escalation strategies.
• Collaborate with teachers, caseworkers, and mental health staff to support IEPs.
• Supervise students across classrooms, hallways, and during transitions; assist with safety protocols.
• Assist with mobility, personal care, hygiene, and health-related needs.
