Job summary

Point Quest Group is seeking a Special Education Paraprofessional in Minneapolis, MN for the 2026-2027 school year. The role provides instructional support to K-12 students, including small-group and individualized assistance to reinforce learning concepts.

You will monitor classroom activities, collaborate with teachers and families, and assist in maintaining a safe, positive learning environment. W-2 employment with benefits and ongoing school-based mentorship are provided.

Qualifications

• Associates degree or 2-year post secondary with 60 credits is required.
• Paraprofessional Credential through Minnesota Department of Education is required or credentialed on PELSB rubric.
• Background check and drug screening required.
• Experience in school setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Work with small groups of students in an instructional capacity.
• Assist students individually or in groups with lesson assignments to reinforce learning concepts.
• Maintain a safe and positive learning environment in the classroom.
• Monitor students in classrooms, libraries, or playgrounds to ensure safety.
• Support students with special needs and modify instruction as directed.
• Maintain student conduct and assist the teacher in their absence.
• Perform other related duties as assigned by teachers or administrators.

About the Role

Provide instructional assistance to students in K-12 school settings. You'll conduct assessments, develop treatment plans, and deliver direct therapy to help students improve communication skills and access their education. This role collaborates closely with teachers, families, and multidisciplinary teams to maximize student outcomes.

What You'll Do

• Work with small groups of students in an instructional capacity.
• Assist and provide support for students, individually or in groups, with lesson assignments to reinforce learning concepts.
• Assist in maintaining appropriate classroom environment to ensure a safe and positive learning experience.
• Monitor individual students in the classroom, library, or during playground activities to ensure a safe and positive learning environment
• Monitor and assists students during various classroom activities (examples; art, literacy, bath rooming, fine motor skills)
• Maintain confidentiality in all correspondence and communications
• Support special needs learners and modifies instruction as directed
• Assist in maintaining appropriate student conduct
• Maintain discipline in the absence of the teacher
• Perform other related duties as assigned/required by teacher(s), site, or district administrator(s).

What We're Looking For

• Associates Degree or equivalent, or 2 years post secondary and at least 60 completed credits OR
• Paraprofessional Credential through Minnesota Department of Education (such as passing score on ParaPro or ParaEducator Assessments or credentialed on the PELSB rubric)
• Background check and drug screening required
• Previous experience working in the school setting preferred
