Point Quest Group is seeking a Special Education Paraprofessional to provide instructional support in K-12 settings and assist with assessments and treatment plans to improve communication and access to education.

The role collaborates with teachers, families, and multidisciplinary teams to maximize student outcomes and will be based in Milwaukee, WI. W-2 employment with benefits is included.

Qualifications

• Associates degree or 60+ college credits or Paraprofessional Credential.
• Background check and drug screening required.
• Experience in school setting preferred.

Responsabilités

• Work with small groups of students in an instructional capacity.
• Assist and provide support for students with lessons to reinforce learning concepts.
• Maintain a safe, positive learning environment and classroom discipline in the teacher's absence.
• Monitor students in classroom, library, or playground to ensure safety.
• Support students with various activities (art, literacy, etc.) and modify instruction as directed.
• Maintain confidentiality in all communications.

About the Role

Provide instructional assistance to students in K-12 school settings. You'll conduct assessments, develop treatment plans, and deliver direct therapy to help students improve communication skills and access their education. This role collaborates closely with teachers, families, and multidisciplinary teams to maximize student outcomes.

What You'll Do:

• Work with small groups of students in an instructional capacity.
• Assist and provide support for students, individually or in groups, with lesson assignments to reinforce learning concepts.
• Assist in maintaining appropriate classroom environment to ensure a safe and positive learning experience.
• Monitor individual students in the classroom, library, or during playground activities to ensure a safe and positive learning environment
• Monitor and assists students during various classroom activities (examples; art, literacy, bath rooming, fine motor skills)
• Maintain confidentiality in all correspondence and communications
• Support special needs learners and modifies instruction as directed
• Assist in maintaining appropriate student conduct
• Maintain discipline in the absence of the teacher
• Perform other related duties as assigned/required by teacher(s), site, or district administrator(s).

What We're Looking For:

• Associates Degree or equivalent, or 2 years post secondary and at least 60 completed credits OR
• Paraprofessional Credential through Wisconsin Department of Education (such as passing score on ParaPro or ParaEducator Assessments or credentialed on the PELSB rubric)
• Background check and drug screening required
• Previous experience working in the school setting preferred
