Point Quest Group is seeking a Special Education Paraprofessional to support K-12 students in Milwaukee, WI. You will work with small groups, assist with lesson tasks, monitor classroom activities, and collaborate with teachers and families to help students access their education.

You’ll help implement plans, provide direct support to develop communication skills, maintain confidentiality, and ensure a safe, positive learning environment across classroom, library, and playground settings during

Qualifications

• Associates Degree or equivalent required.
• 2 years post secondary with at least 60 completed credits is acceptable.
• Paraprofessional Credential through Wisconsin DOE (ParaPro/ParaEducator or PELSB rubric) is required or preferred.

Responsibilities

• Work with small groups of students in an instructional capacity.
• Assist and provide support for students, individually or in groups, with lesson assignments to reinforce learning concepts.
• Assist in maintaining a safe and positive learning environment in the classroom.
• Monitor individual students in classrooms, library, or playground to ensure safety and positive learning experiences.
• Provide support for students with various classroom activities (art, literacy, etc.).
• Maintain confidentiality in all communications.
• Support special needs learners and modify instruction as directed.
• Maintain student conduct and assist in class management in the absence of the teacher.

About the Role

Provide instructional assistance to students in K-12 school settings. You’ll conduct assessments, develop treatment plans, and deliver direct therapy to help students improve communication skills and access their education. This role collaborates closely with teachers, families, and multidisciplinary teams to maximize student outcomes.

What You’ll Do

• Work with small groups of students in an instructional capacity.
• Assist and provide support for students, individually or in groups, with lesson assignments to reinforce learning concepts.
• Assist in maintaining appropriate classroom environment to ensure a safe and positive learning experience.
• Monitor individual students in the classroom, library, or during playground activities to ensure a safe and positive learning environment
• Monitor and assists students during various classroom activities (examples; art, literacy, bath rooming, fine motor skills)
• Maintain confidentiality in all correspondence and communications
• Support special needs learners and modifies instruction as directed
• Assist in maintaining appropriate student conduct
• Maintain discipline in the absence of the teacher
• Perform other related duties as assigned/required by teacher(s), site, or district administrator(s).

What We’re Looking For

• Associates Degree or equivalent, or 2 years post secondary and at least 60 completed credits OR
• Paraprofessional Credential through Wisconsin Department of Education (such as passing score on ParaPro or ParaEducator Assessments or credentialed on the PELSB rubric)
• Background check and drug screening required
• Previous experience working in the school setting preferred
