Job summary

Sylvania is seeking a Mandated Special Education Aide for Oakridge Lower Elementary. The ideal candidate will assist with physical needs of students, have experience working with children with disabilities, and hold a high school diploma or equivalent.

This position requires the ability to lift 75 pounds, monitor students during medical episodes, and cooperate with teachers and therapists. The work schedule is Monday to Friday from 8:20 AM to 3:45 PM.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Highly qualified with an Associate's degree or higher.
• Experience with children with disabilities is essential.

Responsibilities

• Assist with physical needs of students, including medication administration.
• Monitor students during medical episodes.
• Attend training sessions as needed.

Skills

Experience with children with disabilities

Ability to assist with physical needs of students

Knowledge of two-person lift and SoloLift

Ability to lift 75 pounds

CPR certified

Cooperative work with other staff

Education

High School Diploma or equivalent

Associates Degree or higher

Passing score on MTTC or Basic Skills Exam

Passing score on ETS Parapro Assessment
