Job summary

Oakridge Public Schools is seeking a Mandated Special Education Aide for the Oakridge Early Childhood Center. The role supports students with disabilities, including assisting with medications, lifting up to 75 pounds, and scribing notes.

Training sessions may be required, with duties defined by the building principal and education staff. The position runs during GSRP sessions from Sept 8, 2026, through May 2027, Monday to Thursday 7:45 a.m.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Eligible with one of: Associates Degree or higher; 60 college hours completed.
• WorkKeys: Reading for Information 4, Applied Math 4, Writing 3.
• MTTC Professional Readiness Exam or Basic Skills Exam passed.
• ETS Parapro Assessment score 460.
• Experience with children with disabilities.
• Ability to assist with medication and monitor medical episodes.
• Knowledge of two-person lift and SoloLift.
• Ability to lift 75 pounds.
• Ability to scribe notes and assignments.
• CPR certified preferred.
• Willingness to attend training sessions as needed.
• Duties set by building principal in conjunction with staff.

Responsibilities

• Assist with physical needs of students and monitor during medical episodes.
• Collaborate with teachers, speech and physical therapists and assistive technology coordinator.
• Duties may be adjusted by principal based on student needs throughout the year.
