Job summary

Springfield Public Schools seeks a Special Education Paraprofessional who will support students with moderate to severe needs under supervision of a teacher. You will deliver rigorous academic and behavior interventions, lead tutoring sessions, and coordinate with families and staff to promote student success.

You will work with a small caseload, support state standards, and help create a positive classroom environment.

Qualifications

• High-school diploma or GED required.
• Sixty college credits or an Associate’s Degree, or a passing ParaPro/WorkKeys score.
• Authorized to work in the United States on day one.
• Work Keys: Reading 5, Math 4, Writing 3.

Responsibilities

• Assist a small case load of students with academics and behavior interventions.
• Collaborate with a special educator to drive academic achievement.
• Lead daily tutoring sessions, individually or in small groups.
• Communicate effectively with students, families, and colleagues.
• Support implementation of standards in class activities.
• Help maintain a positive, safe classroom environment.
