Job summary

Ysleta Independent School District seeks a paraprofessional to support students with disabilities inside and outside the classroom. You will assist with IEP implementation, instructional materials, and behavior management under a certified teacher’s direction.

You will help supervise students across the school day, including lunchroom and bus duties, assist with testing and technology integration, and support personal care and mobility needs as required.

Qualifications

• Requires completion of high school diploma or GED and 48 college hours from an accredited college or university.
• Paraprofessional certificate issued by SBEC or eligibility to obtain it.
• CPR, Heimlich maneuver, and Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (NCI) certifications within district calendar.
• Must be familiar with OT/PT apparatus and able to communicate effectively in English.

Responsibilities

• Supervise students during the school day, including lunchroom, bus, and playground duties.
• Assist teacher with instructional materials, behavioral interventions, and physical needs of students.
• Implement IEP goals under supervision of certified staff; document services as required.
• Assist with testing instruments and technology integration in the curriculum.
• Support students with disabilities in daily living activities and positioning as needed.
• Prepare classroom materials, inventory, and assist with clerical tasks as required.
