Ysleta Independent School District is seeking a Special Education Aide to support students with disabilities inside and outside the classroom. You will help implement IEPs, assist with behavior management, and work under supervision of certified staff.

The role involves lifting and assisting students, using augmentative communication tools, and coordinating with teachers and SPED staff to monitor progress and adapt instruction. A paraprofessional certificate and CPR/NCI are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; thirty/forty-eight hours from an accredited college or university? paraprofessional certificate SBEC required.
• CPR and Heimlich maneuver, and Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (NCI) certifications within district training calendar.
• Must be familiar with OT/PT apparatus used with students.
• Must be able to communicate effectively in English and understand daily instructions.

Responsabilités

• Help supervise students throughout the school day, inside and outside the classroom, including lunchroom, bus, and playground duty.
• Assist teacher with instructional materials, behavioral interventions, and physical needs of students.
• Participate in staff development and apply learned strategies in curriculum.
• Work with individual students, small groups, and the whole class as assigned.
• Support students with developmental delays and behavioral challenges to meet instructional goals.
• Reinforce skills and units taught by the teacher and document services per IEP.
• Assist with SHARS billing and maintain equipment inventory and filing.
• Provide orientation to substitutes and meet with SPED staff to review student progress.
• Attend site as required to fulfill essential functions of the job.
