Job summary

Elysian Fields ISD seeks a dedicated Resource Paraprofessional for Elysian Fields High School to assist in meeting the physical and instructional needs of students with disabilities. Under supervision, you will help implement classroom programs, prepare materials, supervise students, and maintain records.

You will support instructional and behavioral needs, assist with inventory and safety procedures, and help manage daily activities inside and outside the classroom, including lunchroom and bus

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Associate’s degree or two years of college requested.
• Valid Texas educational aide certificate required (in district postings).
• Ability to work with children with disabilities.
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
• Ability to communicate effectively.
• Knowledge of general office equipment.

Responsibilities

• Help teacher prepare instructional materials and classroom displays.
• Help maintain a neat and orderly classroom.
• Help with inventory, care, and maintenance of equipment.
• Help teacher keep administrative records and prepare required reports.
• Provide orientation and assistance to substitute teachers.
• Assist students with physical disabilities including transferring to and from wheelchairs; lifting; positioning; or assisting with personal care.
