Job summary

Granite School District in Utah seeks a Special Education resource paraeducator to support instruction and classroom programming. The role works under the supervising teacher to provide direct services to students and assist in designing and coordinating activities for each student.

Hours per week: 29. The position requires attendance, punctuality, confidentiality, and the ability to work within district guidelines. Bus supervision may be included, with professional development expected.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• If working in a Title 1 school: 48 hours of college credit or pass the ParaPro exam.
• Prior work with those with disabilities preferred.
• Ability to follow directions outlined by the special education teacher and related service professionals for instructional practice, behavioral interventions, and functional skills development.
• Skilled in data collection and achievement monitoring.
• Ability to effectively manage stress.

Responsibilities

• Implement drill and practice exercises designed by the teacher for groups or individuals.
• Keep accurate data on assigned groups and/or individual students.
• Supervise and monitor student instructional activities within the school and community settings.
• Provide personal maintenance care for students related to self-help and hygiene.
