Job summary

The Granite School District seeks a Special Education paraeducator to support instructional programming under the supervision of the classroom teacher. The role focuses on direct services to students and assisting with data collection, self-help and personal care tasks as needed.

Required: high school diploma or equivalent; Title I option of 48 college credits or ParaPro exam; prior experience with students with disabilities is preferred. Works 29 hours per week in a classroom setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• In Title I schools, 48 college credits or pass the ParaPro exam.
• Prior work with students with disabilities preferred.
• Ability to follow directions and maintain confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Assist supervising teacher with instruction and classroom programming.
• Provide direct services to students and support attendance and timeliness.
• Implement teacher-designed drills and collect data on progress.
• Supervise and support students in and outside the classroom as needed.
• Assist with self-help and personal care tasks under supervision.
• Maintain confidentiality regarding student progress and needs.
