Job summary

Baltimore County Public Schools is seeking a paraeducator to support students with special needs under teacher supervision. You will assist in implementing lessons, reinforce skills, and help manage classroom activities and behavior.

Responsibilities include supporting students with self-care and mobility tasks, and performing clerical duties. The role involves lifting and assisting with transfers, with possible after-school hours as schedules dictate.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or Equivalent.
• Forty-eight (48) college credits.
• ParaPro Assessment with passing score of 455 or higher before 9/1/2026.
• ParaPathways with Reading/Writing 332 and Mathematics 334.
• Foundations of Classroom Support with minimum score 220.

Responsibilities

• Assist teachers in planning, implementing and evaluating instructional lessons and materials.
• Assist students individually or in groups with instructional activities, skills reinforcement, and supervision of field trips.
• Assist and/or train students in self-care and mobility tasks, including toileting and transfers.
• Monitor student behavior and discuss observations with instructional staff.
• Perform clerical tasks and maintain attendance logs and student records.
