Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Associate degree or 72 quarter credits or ParaPro test required.
• May require first aid/CPR/defibrillator certification.
• Experience working with diverse families/communities preferred.
• Able to handle interruptions and shifting priorities.
• Strong attendance and punctuality required.
• Excellent English communication and reporting skills.
• Organizational skills and ability to manage tasks effectively.

Responsibilities

• Assist teachers with instruction, supervision, and student support in various settings.
• Provide health-related assistance and follow nurse supervision for prescribed tasks.
• Teach independent living skills such as cooking, laundry, and personal hygiene.
• Assist with safety, behavior management, and restraint procedures as needed.
• Support movement, positioning, and basic therapies per plans.
• Escort students to activities and assist with bus or playground duties.
• Maintain confidentiality and communicate respectfully with families.
