Job summary

Tacoma Public Schools is seeking a paraeducator to provide one-on-one assistance to a Grade 9 student with a disability during the school day at SOTA, an arts-focused high school in downtown Tacoma. You will assist a certificated teacher with instructional and day-to-day activities and help support student needs.

The role requires completing the General Paraeducator Certificate and participating in required training.

Qualifications

• Requires completion and attainment of the state mandated General Paraeducator Certificate.
• The Paraeducator Certificate Program offers statewide standards-based training for ESPs and supports career growth.

Responsibilities

• Provides one-on-one assistance to a Grade 9 student with a disability during school activities.
• Assists a certificated teacher with instructional and non-instructional activities as time permits.
• Provides academic interventions and may assist students with activities.
