Job summary

Monterey County Office Of Education is seeking a Paraeducator to support instructional activities for students in special education and general education settings. The role reports to the Principal and works under supervision to assist teachers and ensure a positive learning environment.

Mandatory qualifications include high school diploma or equivalent with 48 college units or an associate degree, CA driver’s license, first aid and CPR within six months, and completion of the MCOE Crisis

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent AND 48 semester units or an associate’s degree or higher.
• Possession of an appropriate valid California Driver’s License with evidence of insurability.
• First Aid and CPR certification within 6 months of employment; Crisis Intervention Program completion.

Responsibilities

• Assist teachers in instructional activities for students in special education moderate/severe programs and in mainstream classrooms.

Education

High school diploma or equivalent and 2 years of higher education (48 semester units)

Associate’s degree or higher

Ability to demonstrate knowledge or ability to assist in instructing reading, writing and mathematics
