Job summary

Monterey County Office of Education in Salinas is seeking a Paraeducator to assist teachers in special education and mainstream classrooms, under the principal's supervision. You will support instructional activities for students and help create a safe, productive learning environment.

Requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent and two years of college or an associate degree. Pay range is $24.22 - $31.28 per hour for a full-time schedule (M-F, 183 days/yr).

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent and 48 semester units or an associate degree.
• Prior experience with students with disabilities is desirable.
• Valid CA driver’s license and CPR/First Aid certifications within six months.

Responsibilities

• Assist teachers in instructional activities for students in special education and mainstream classrooms.
• Support students with reading, writing, and mathematics under supervision.
• Help maintain a positive and safe classroom environment.
