Job summary

Monterey County Office Of Education invites applications for a Paraeducator (Virginia Rocca Barton), Special Education. This full-time position supports instructional activities for students in special education moderate/severe programs and in mainstream classrooms.

Salary is $24.22 - $31.28 per hour. Employment is full-time, with a six-and-a-half hour workday across 183 days per year, and an application deadline of 9/14/2026 5:00 PM Pacific.

Qualifications

• Education as required by the Every Student Succeeds Act of 2015: High school diploma or equivalent AND two (2) years of higher education study (48 semester units) OR possession of an Associate's or higher degree
• Possession of an appropriate valid California Driver's License with evidence of insurability
• First Aid Certification; CPR Certification within six (6) months of employment; Crisis Intervention Program within six (6) months of employment; Ability to pass the MCOE sign language test within six (6) months of employment

• Under the general direction of the Principal, the Paraeducator assists teachers in instructional activities for students in special education and mainstream classrooms.
