Job summary

Sylvania is seeking a Paraeducator/Teacher Assistant to support students with disabilities in multiple settings. The role includes assisting instruction, monitoring progress, and helping with daily living activities.

Strong communication and recordkeeping skills are essential. Candidates must have a high school diploma and complete Personal Care Assistant certification within 30 days of start date, plus required credits or an associate degree, or ParaEducator/ParaPro exam.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Personal Care Assistant certification must be completed within 30 days of start date.
• 60 semester credits / 90 quarter credits or an associate degree, or passing the ParaEducator/ParaPro exam.
• Good communication, interpersonal and recordkeeping skills; ability to work with technology and staff.

Responsibilities

• Assist in instruction of students with disabilities in various settings (mainstream, resource room, center).
• Monitor and record student progress in academics, daily living skills, dressing, grooming, social skills, etc.
• Assist with physical needs and safety, including toileting, feeding, lifting and positioning.
