Job summary

You'll assist in small and large groups, help prepare materials, and implement plans under the guidance of teachers and administrators. The role emphasizes teamwork with Special Education staff, data collection, behavior support, and ensuring safety across classrooms and common areas.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Current first aid/CPR certification or willingness to obtain promptly.
• Paraeducators shall be highly qualified upon hire into a continuing position per state law.
• Other WA requirements: specific credits or certifications may apply per state guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Supports teachers in meeting instructional, behavioral, and social-emotional needs of students with disabilities.
• Provide instructional support in small or large groups to reinforce learning objectives.
• Assist with observing, recording data, charting behavior, and classroom preparation.
• Follow plans and procedures set by administrators or certificated staff.
• Maintain health, safety, and well-being standards per district policies.
• Assist in maintaining order in common areas and supervise students as needed.
• Collaborate with Special Education staff and teachers to implement IEP goals.
• Document fading of supports and gather data as directed by teachers.
