Job summary

West Valley School District #363 Early Learning Center in Spokane Valley, Washington is seeking an Instructional Paraeducator - Special Education to support students with IEP goals under the MTSS model. The role emphasizes collaboration with certificated staff, flexible communication, and timely data collection.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or higher with options, the ability to follow directions, develop positive relationships with staff, students and families, and experience

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent; AND one of: Associate Arts or higher; OR 72-quarter credits; OR pass an academically rigorous assessment.
• Ability to develop positive relationships with staff, students, and families and contribute to a positive culture.
• Demonstrated ability to follow directions and carry out routines as directed by certificated staff.

Responsibilities

• Develop positive, professional relationships with students to build trust.
• Provide secondary instructional support in classroom under teacher supervision.
• Reinforce learning in groups or individually as directed by teacher.
• Assist with classroom setup and prepare materials for activities.
• Observe and utilize techniques used by special education teachers and therapists.
• Assist in data collection as prescribed by the school-based team.
