Job summary

Sylvania is hiring a Paraeducator for Special Education to support students with disabilities in multiple settings. The role is full-time (184 days) with 6.5 hours per day, starting 8/31/26.

Insurance benefits are available for positions of 6 hours or more per day. The position requires a High School Diploma or equivalent, with PCA certification due within 30 days of starting, and completion of required college credits or a ParaEducator/ParaPro exam.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required; PCA certification to be completed within 30 days of start date.
• Candidates must have completed 60 semester/90 quarter credits or an associate degree (or higher) from a regionally accredited institution or passed the ParaEducator or ParaPro exam.
• Good communications, interpersonal and recordkeeping skills; able to use technology and computers; able to supervise students and take direction.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the instruction of students with disabilities in various settings (mainstream, resource room or center-based).
• Monitor and record student progress in academics, daily living skills, and social development.
• Manage behavior by redirecting or removing disruptive students; ensure safety and well-being of students.
• Maintain regular attendance and support students in toileting, feeding and self-care as required.
