Job summary

Sylvania seeks a Paraeducator Special Education for a full-time year‑round position (184 days/6.5 hours per day). The role supports students with disabilities in mainstream and center-based settings, beginning after a 5-day posting period.

Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent, a Personal Care Assistant certification within 30 days, and 60 sem/90 qtr credits or an associate degree, or passing the ParaEducator or ParaPro exam.

Qualifications

• Good communications, interpersonal and recordkeeping skills; able to work with technology and staff.

Responsibilities

• Assists in instruction of students with disabilities in various settings.
• Manage behavior, redirect or remove disruptive students from the classroom.
• Monitor and record student progress in academics, daily living, social skills, etc.
• Assist with physical needs including toileting, feeding, dressing, and lifting.
