Job summary

Sylvania invites applications for a Paraeducator / Teacher Assistant - Special Education. This full-time role covers 184 days and 6.5 hours per day, with responsibilities across mainstream, resource, and center-base settings.

You will support students with disabilities, manage behavior, and track progress while working with staff to deliver individualized instruction. The position requires a High School Diploma or equivalent, and a PCA certification within 30 days of start.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• PCA certification required within 30 days of start date.
• Candidates may have 60 semester/90 quarter credits or an associate degree or have passed the ParaEducator/ParaPro exam.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the instruction of students with disabilities in various settings.
• Manage behavior and redirect or remove disruptive students as needed.
• Monitor and record student progress in academics, daily living skills, and social skills.
• Assist with physical needs and safe student handling as required.
