Job summary

AFFLERBACH ELEMENTARY SCHOOL in Cheyenne, Wyoming is seeking a Paraeducator – Special Education to support students with diverse needs under the supervision of a certified teacher. The role includes reinforcing curriculum, adapting activities, and assisting with IEPs in small-group settings.

Work is Monday–Friday, 7.5 hours per day, for 10 months per year, with a pay rate of $16.52/hour plus benefits. Applicants must meet district guidelines and pass a background check.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• No experience required.
• Experience working with school age children preferred.
• Experience working with children with special needs preferred.

Responsibilities

• Under direct supervision of a certified teacher, assist students individually or in small groups to reinforce learning concepts.
• Administer tests and assignments, and track progress for teacher records.
• Collaborate with teachers to support IEP objectives and document observations.
• Monitor student behavior and enforce safety and classroom rules as directed.
• Assist with organizing materials, copies, and classroom setup.
• Respond to emergencies and attend in-service trainings as required.
