Job summary

Sylvania seeks a Paraeducator for Special Education to support instruction in mainstream, resource room, or center-based settings. This full-time role covers 184 days/6.5 hours per day and begins after the mandatory posting period.

Ideal candidates will assist with behavior management, monitor student progress, and support diverse learning needs. Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma, a ParaEducator certification within 30 days, and required credits or credential exams.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent. Personal Care Assistant certification due within 30 days of start.
• 60 credit hours or an AA degree or higher from a regionally accredited institution, or passed the ParaEducator/ParaPro exam.
• Demonstrated good communication, interpersonal and recordkeeping skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist in instruction of students with disabilities in various settings (mainstream, resource, center).
• Manage behavior, redirect or remove disruptive students as needed.
• Monitor and record student progress in academics, daily living skills, and social development.
