Job summary

Gilbert Public Schools is seeking a Paraprofessional Specialist at Mesquite Junior High to support students with severe/moderate disabilities under a certificated teacher. The role includes implementing plans,recording data, and assisting with daily living and behavioral goals in alignment with IEPs.

Position is 9 months, 7 hours per day, starting at an hourly rate of $17.89+ depending on experience. Requires Level One IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card and completion of required certifications.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent; Associate degree, AA degree, or 60 college credits.
• Certifications: Must possess a valid Arizona DPS Level One IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card; CPR/First Aid; CPI certification as requested by supervisor.

Responsibilities

• Adapts classroom activities and materials under teacher direction to include all special education students.
• Assists daily living tasks for students needing care; supports learning goals per IEP/district benchmarks.
• Records progress and data; participates in Direct Service Claiming (DSC) for compliance.
• Monitors student safety in lunch, playground, and classroom; responds to emergencies.
• Collaborates with teachers and therapists to support individualized instruction and behavior plans.

Education
