Job summary

Gilbert Public Schools is seeking a Paraprofessional Technician to support mildly/moderately disabled students under a certificated teacher. You will observe progress, assist with instruction, and help implement IEP plans in a Title I campus setting.

Responsibilities include one-on-one support, adapting activities, data collection for DSC, and ensuring student safety, with a 9-month contract and a starting hourly rate of $16.81+ depending on experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Associate degree or 60 college credits or equivalent.
• ParaPro Assessment is required or demonstrated.
• Must possess valid Arizona DPS Level One IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card.

Responsibilities

• Assists special education students one on one with classroom and daily living skills.
• Adapts activities and materials under the teacher's direction to include all students.
• Confers with teachers/therapists for student needs and direction.
• Supports instructional activities for individuals or small groups per IEP/district benchmarks.
• Implements behavioral plans designed by IEP team for students with behavior needs.
• Provides instructional materials under teacher/therapist guidance.
• Monitors students to ensure a safe, positive learning environment.
• Participates in data collection for the DSC program and records daily instruction/behavior.

Education

High school diploma or equivalent
