Job summary

Gwinnett County Public Schools seeks a Para AUT-Moderate-Level II – Special Education to support instructional programs for students with special needs. You will assist in supervising and teaching in regular and special education settings, contributing to IEP implementation and data collection.

Responsibilities include adapting activities, assisting with daily living tasks, and collaborating with teachers to monitor progress.

Qualifications

• H.S. Diploma or GED or equivalent.
• Praxis Parapro Assessment or GACE Parapro Assessment required.
• 60 semester hours or 90 quarter hours from PSC approved college/university.

Responsibilities

• Support instructional program in assigned classroom for special needs students.
• Reinforce IEP goals and objectives in activities and materials.
• Provide basic first aid and medical assistance as directed by health staff.
• Administer tests, homework, and make-up work to support teachers.
• Assist medically fragile students with personal care as needed.
• Confer with teachers on student progress and IEP implementation.
• Monitor safety and behavior in classrooms, hallways, lunch, and activities.
• Maintain records and prepare attendance and daily logs.
• Provide instruction in small and large group activities as directed.
• Respond to emergencies and assist with crisis intervention as required.
• Assist with supervision duties (hallways, lunchroom, restrooms, bus).
• Other duties as assigned by supervising staff.
